This workshop is designed to support organisations in the health sector to fulfil their responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Tailored to the align with the specific focus of the client, the workshop supports participants to understand the relevance of Te Tiriti to their organisation and to health provision today.

Through this workshop participants will:

  • understand the historical and current relevance of Te Tiriti
  • understand the on-going impacts of colonisation and institutional racism on Māori health
  • gain an appreciation of the central role of Te Tiriti in quality health provision
  • identify, and feel empowered to undertake, actions which support their organisation/profession to fulfil its Te Tiriti and Māori health equity commitments.

We currently offer the workshop using a blend of online self-paced and facilitated (Zoom) delivery. This approach provides flexibility as you can choose the self-paced option best suited to you – either Understanding Te Tiriti (concise) or Understanding Te Tiriti (in-depth). The self-paced learning is followed by a participatory 5hr hour facilitated online workshop.

The workshop can also be delivered as a 2-day in-house workshop (Covid permitting).
