Tēnā koutou katoa!

Ngā mihi o te kōanga ki a koutou. We have a number of exciting resources and updates to share with you all this month.

Firstly, we’d like to acknowledge that for many of you, elections and major weather events are likely to be front of mind at this time. As we speak to some of these related challenges in our own work, we’ve been reflecting on the messages in the book Not Too Late: Changing the Story from Despair to Possibility.

Met with crisis headlines, fear mongering, and a sense of overwhelm, one key reminder from the authors is that it isn’t too late to turn things around. In the recent Matariki Huihuinga series hosted by Whāriki, our Kaihautū Jen reflected on these messages in relation to the actions we can take now, as haumi or allies, to support Te Tiriti honouring change.

During the webinar Jen, and facilitators Kahurangi Fergusson-Tibble and Angela Gruar, reminded those in the audience that we can collectively shift the story of our climate and Te Tiriti future from one of division and despair, to one of possibility and collective hope.

Ngā mihi maioha,
