At this time of Matariki we reflect on the challenging year that has been as Te Tiriti and tangata whenua have been under constant attack. We also reflect on the powerful actions of people all around the country in support of Te Tiriti. From the multitudes who joined Hīkoi mō te Tiriti, to the record breaking numbers of submissions against the Treaty Principles Bill, to the daily expressions of rangatiratanga, kotahitanga and aroha, our communities are working together to show respect and care for one another.
In the current environment, it has been heartening for us to work with organisations who are taking their practice to the next level, through our Haumi-Allies and Embedding Te Tiriti workshops and Te Tiriti strategic planning – all of which strengthen practice to bring Te Tiriti commitments to life in practical ways. These organisations are strengthening their action now to uphold Te Tiriti in the year to come and beyond.
In this pānui we share our new resources, opportunities to connect with others and re/fill your kete through upcoming events and training, and actions to take in the coming weeks.
