Mō Mātou | About Us
our WORK
We offer engaging and affordable workshops that give you a solid grounding in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance for all of us in Aotearoa today.
Our self-paced workshops are available to both individuals and organisations. We offer facilitated workshops to organisations committed to beneficial change for Māori.
We also offer tailored solutions to help organisations bring Te Tiriti to life.
WHO we WORK WIth
We work with a range of organisations to honour Te Tiriti and to address structural inequities in their sector – including with government departments, independent crown entities, local and regional councils, non-profits and community groups.
We have current working relationships with Te Tāhuhu o Te Mātauranga | the Ministry of Education, Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga, Stats NZ, several Crown Research Institutes and National Science Challenges, Te Whatu Ora MidCentral, the Health Quality & Safety Commission, several medical colleges, local councils, schools and many community organisations.
relationships with tangata whenua
We respond to the call from Māori for tangata Tiriti (non-Māori) to shoulder the responsibility of educating our own people and support change within tangata Tiriti-led organisations.
Our approach is to centre tangata whenua voices, while ensuring that tangata Tiriti understand and act on their Te Tiriti responsibilities.
When we are approached by tangata Tiriti, we will ask whether your organisation’s Māori staff or advisors endorse Te Tiriti o Waitangi education by Groundwork. Before engaging with us, we recommend you begin this discussion first.
We share our profits with Māori organisations and initiatives through direct donations and through Te Muka Rau Trust.
